Project description

As part of the slum reduction programme in Djibouti City, Keios conducted for ARULoS a comprehensive restructuring study for the informal settlement of Djaga-Bouldhouq (16 ha), including diagnostics, socio-economic survey, drone-based surveys, geographic information system, plans, regulations, and technical files. Works are ongoing in phases.

Scope of Services

  • Urban, environmental, and socio-economic diagnostic (including drone-based topographic surveys, field surveys, and flood risk assessment)
  • Detailed socio-economic survey of the population
  • Establishment of a geographic information system to support spatial analysis and planning
  • Preparation of the general restructuring plan integrating environmental mitigation measures
  • Design of the detailed restructuring and alignment plan
  • Drafting of specific urban planning regulations considering environmental constraints
  • Preliminary and detailed design studies and tender documents for infrastructure works, integrating sustainable solutions
  • Preliminary and detailed design studies and tender documents for public facilities (community centre, indoor market, and multi-sport complex)
