Project Description
World Bank–supported project for the sustainable development of Lahore’s Walled City (WHS), integrating heritage conservation, poverty reduction, and urban revitalisation. Included an identification study, a pilot project along the Royal Route, and capacity building, leading to the creation of the Walled City of Lahore Authority, a long-term regeneration process, and a major increase in foreign tourism.
Scope of Services
- Comprehensive urban, historical, and social analysis of the Walled City context
- Identification study for the overall sustainable development strategy
- Study tour for local authorities to Fes, Morocco, on heritage governance best practices
- Feasibility study and design for the Royal Route pilot project
