Works for the construction of the Kigali Cultural Village have started in Kigali, Rwanda.
The new cultural village, designed by Keios in 2011-2012, will highlight the unique cultural and historical heritage of the country.
The project concept rests on the idea of a low-density, multifunctional park, integrating a range of facilities, venues, programmes and services including an indoor auditorium, an outdoor venue, the botanical garden, museums, accommodation, restaurants and other facilities.
It is expected that the new cultural village will contribute to the diversification of the tourism product in Rwanda and play a critical part in increasing the length of stay of tourists and overall per capita spend.
