Development and Implementation in Gambia

We are glad to share that Keios has been invited by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture of The Gambia to submit a proposal for the “Development and Implementation of an Additional Tourism Product (Site 2) at Albreda and Juffureh” under the Tourism Diversification and Resilience in The Gambia Project, financed by the World Bank.
After our previous work on the project “Conduct a Demand and Destination Site Evaluation & Assessment of Potential Tourism Sites throughout The Gambia,” we are particularly pleased about this opportunity, which would allow us to continue supporting tourism development in The Gambia and strengthen our engagement with local institutions and communities.
This new assignment focuses on shaping a cultural heritage experience within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kunta Kinteh Island and the gateway communities of Albreda and Juffureh. The project aims to enhance cultural preservation, strengthen community-based tourism opportunities, improve visitor infrastructure, and develop an integrated visitor management and interpretation framework that reflects both local heritage and the global legacy of the African diaspora.
We are proud to bring our international experience in tourism planning, heritage-sensitive design, and destination development to this meaningful initiative, working closely with the PIU, national institutions, local communities, and development partners.
