Project Description

WB-funded joint venture study for the revitalisation of Ajloun, Jerash, Karak, Madaba and Salt, focusing on regulatory improvements, physical upgrades, and capacity building to regenerate historic cores. Resulted in the WB Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Urban Development Project, which nearly doubled the average tourist stay.

Scope of Services

  • Comprehensive analysis of the current urban, regulatory, and socio-economic context for each of the five target cities, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities
  • Extensive site visits to document existing conditions, assess infrastructure and heritage assets, and engage with local communities
  • In-depth consultations with municipal authorities, heritage bodies, business owners, and community representatives to guide the development of proposals
  • Preparation of a detailed feasibility study for the overall programme, assessing technical, financial, social, and environmental viability
  • Conceptual design of priority urban regeneration actions, including streetscape improvements, heritage conservation projects, and adaptive reuse proposals
