A two-day National Tourism Workshop was held in Cairo on the 5th and 7th of December. The meetings were chaired by Dr. Khaled el-Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Ahmed el-Wassief, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Federation, with the participation of the Minister of Transport V.A. Kamel Elwazir.
A Keios team lead by Raffaele Gorjux and including Peter Nizette, Tim Coombs and Giulia Gorjux contributed to the meeting by delivering presentations and facilitating the discussions.
A wide representation of the public and private sector, including industry representatives, central and local governments, were together for two days of discussions on the challenges facing the Egyptian tourism industry, the opportunities for sustainable growth, the emerging trends and the supporting measures to be provided by the Government.
The results of the workshop will feed into the current assignment of Keios in Egypt to support ETF in tourism post-COVID recovery and sustainable development
